I’m Embarrassed About My Cellulite

The presence of cellulite on your thighs or hips can leave you feeling self-conscious in your own skin, and if you’re one of the 80% of women who have this condition, you might be ready to find a solution that reduces cellulite. Unfortunately, with so many firming creams and lotions, how do you know which treatments really work?

Dr. Afia Naqvi offers state-of-the-art cellulite treatments ㅡ BTL Cellutone™ and BTL Exilis Ultra 360™ ㅡ to help you feel good about your skin. Below, she explores these two treatments and how they can leave you with oh-so-smooth skin.

What is cellulite?

First things first: cellulite doesn’t mean you’re overweight. This is why many women who try to erase cellulite through diet and exercise don’t see the results they wanted. Cellulite happens when the collagen fibers pull downward, causing a layer of fat to poke through little pockets made by the web of connective tissues (fibers) under your skin.

Weight gain can contribute to the appearance of cellulite, but many women experience cellulite even at their ideal weight. Other contributing factors include hormones, genetics, inactivity, and pregnancy.

What can you do about it?

Perhaps you’ve noticed (or even tried) one of the many topical cellulite creams. They might work temporarily, but they don’t provide lasting results. Why? Creams reduce the appearance of cellulite temporarily by adding moisture to your skin, but they don’t address the fibrous tissues or the pockets of fat.

Because cellulite has more to do with the connective fibers under your skin, the cellulite treatments we offer focus on increasing collagen formation and improving the tone and texture of your skin.

We offer the following two cellulite treatments:

1. BTL Cellutone

BTL Cellutone is a 100% noninvasive procedure that targets cellulite by using mechanical targeted vibrations. These vibrations support blood circulation, improve oxygen to the area, and reduce excess fluid buildup (by encouraging drainage through your lymph system).

2. BTL Exilis Ultra 360

BTL Exilis Ultra 360 tightens your skin while targeting your cellulite “lumps,” which are small fat collections. Exilis Ultra 360 is the first and only device that combines noninvasive radiofrequency with ultrasound energy to achieve firmer skin. The handheld device relies on controlled heating to disrupt old collagen formations and stimulate new collagen formations. The controlled cooling keeps you comfortable as the device targets tissues of various tissue depths.

As the radiofrequency energy heats up your tissues, your body naturally responds by boosting collagen production. The heat also starts to break up the fat cells. Between the fat cells being broken up and the skin-tightening effects, your skin will look smoother and more youthful.
