Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that consists of using a 10 gauge scalpel to gently scrape off the top layer of dulling dead skin cells in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. Sounds scary, right? It really isn’t, as long as you’re in the right hands. Dermaplaning is a favorite in the entertainment industry, specifically among models and actresses.
Why? It also erases that annoying peach fuzz that cakes up in makeup and can be enhanced by harsh production lighting and high-definition cameras. “Dermaplaning removes all the dead skin cells and also the facial hair, leaving the surface very smooth,” explains Wright. Dermaplaning also allows for greater penetration of skincare products and creates a flawless canvas for makeup to glide on smoothly. In fact, cosmetic dermatologists often use dermaplaning to help prepare skin for more intrusive procedures such as laser treatments and chemical peels.
Acne Facial/Extractions
Extractions are often performed as part of a facial. Most people need at least a couple of extractions during each facial, though you may require more extractions if this is your first facial. Comedones (blackheads) are the most common reason for extraction.
Anti-Aging Laser Facial
ANTI AGING LASER TREATMENTS CAN REVERSE THE SIGNS OF AGING
Lasers are some of the few tools that can utilize light energy to create positive change within our skin and reverse the signs of aging. Lasers emit one simple frequency of purified light that can “zero in” on a specific target, allowing a laser specialist to choose just the right laser for a specific purpose, utilizing more than one laser to treat multiple skin conditions. The higher the “target specificity”, the lower the required energy, which means fewer side effects are experienced, allowing for less downtime and minimal risk.
Acne Laser Facial
Photopneumatic therapy: This treatment combines an intense pulsed light (IPL) laser with a gentle vacuum. It works by removing excess oil and dead skin cells from clogged pores. It is FDA-approved to treat blackheads, whiteheads, and some pimples. It cannot treat acne nodules or cysts.
Light Therapy
Light therapy—or phototherapy, classically referred to as heliotherapy—consists of exposure to daylight or to specific wavelengths of light using polychromatic polarised light, lasers, light-emitting diodes, fluorescent lamps, dichroic lamps or very bright, full-spectrum light.
